Donald J. "Don" Weidner is dean emeritus at Florida State University College of Law, where until 2016 he served as dean for almost 25 years.
Don served as a gubernatorial appointee (with senate confirmation) to the Uniform Law Commission and was the Reporter for the Revised Uniform Partnership Act (1994). He is also an elected member of The American Law Institute and serves on its Members Consultative Group on the Restatement of the Law of Corporate Governance. From 2011-'13, Don was an appellate judge within the Gulf Coast Claims Facility to resolve disputes arising from the British Petroleum Oil Spill at Deepwater Horizon.
Don is co-author of The Revised Uniform Partnership Act (Thomson Reuters 2023) with Robert W. Hillman and Allan G. Donn. He has written numerous articles on limited liability companies and on partnerships. He has taught business and property classes at Florida State and other law schools, including Stanford, the University of Texas, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of South Carolina. He also teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Personal:
Don spends most of his spare time with his wife, Jiji, a retired teacher, at their weekend house at Alligator Point or visiting their two children and three grandchildren in Nashville and Los Angeles.
